The International Conference on Autonomous Robot Systems and Competitions (ICARSC 2018) will take place at Town Hall of Torres Vedras.

Torres Vedras is located about 50 kilometres from Lisbon, being the territory of Torres Vedras populated by man since ancient times. Here passed communities of collector hunters, farmers, metallurgists and later Greeks and Romans, as Rufus, one of many names spelled in stone that immortalized.

 

Santa Cruz Beach

 

The village and the county grew, becoming a tourist destination, especially from the early twentieth century. Since then, many elect Torres Vedras as a destination, either in search of the spa or the beach of Santa Cruz, renewing encounters permanently. The same village amounted to town in 1979, witnessing a massive urban growth.

In the municipality of Torres Vedras the agriculture (vineyards and horticulture), the food processing and metallurgical industry and the retail trade play a key role.

Conference Banquet

Being Torres Vedras the European City of Wine 2018, the Conference Banquet will take place in the Quinta da Almiara.
Quinta da Almiara is surrounded by 160 hectares of vineyard, and is located in a place of great scenic beauty, in the parish of S. Mamede da Ventosa, in Torres Vedras, part of the Lisbon Wine Region. It's a very old wine production region, with a temperate climate without any wide temperature variations, with gentle hills and strongly influenced by the Atlantic due to the proximity of the ocean.
Quinta da Almiara has a banquet room with capacity for up to 200 guests. Besides its magnificent interior space, with its fine vista over our vineyards, the Quinta also has a terrace, a perfect space with a 360º view of the surrounding area, where you can sit and have an
aperitif or simply enjoy the scenery.
The Banquet starts with a guided tours across Quinta da Almiara facilities.

How to get there

Plane

To travel to Lisbon you should fly to Lisboa airport and then take a bus. The International Airports of Lisbon have regular scheduled flights to and from all main European destinations as well as major worldwide cities.

From Lisbon by Bus

From Lisbon by car

Portugal has a good network of motorways/freeways. You can rent a car at the airport or at any train station as well as in all major cities.

Lisbon to Torres Vedras: You should take the motorway A8 in the direction towards Leiria getting out at exit 7 - Torres Vedras South.

Money Exchange
